Training and Safety

All members are encouraged to take responsibility for their own safety on the hills, and an important part of the club's activities has always been to offer appropriate training to members, including navigation, winter skills, rock climbing and first aid

Rock climbing days are organised before the club's annual trip to Skye in June and winter skills days early in the year (snow permitting).

Details of what's coming up over the next few months are given below.

Beginners Navigation - Outdoor Session

Sunday 19th September 2010
10am - 4pm
Venue: Lomond Hills

Wear normal hill gear and bring packed lunch as well as a Type 4 compass and Landranger OS Map 58.

Ref OS Map 58 - printouts of the area to be covered will be provided.

Meet at Holl Reservoir car park (OS 075035 - take a right 1km east of Leslie on the A911 continue up track to the Resv.)
