About the Club

Descending Coire Raibeirt to Loch Avon, Cairngorms.
Welcome to the Glenrothes Hillwalkers Club. We're an enthusiastic and friendly group of people who share a love of the hills. Although based in Glenrothes, we have members from across Fife and even from further afield.

The club was set up in 1987 and now, with around 100 members, is one of the most active clubs in Fife. Whether you're completely new to hillwalking or have been walking the hills for many years, you will be very welcome. There's a wealth of hill walking experience in the club and members are happy to share their knowledge.

Wendy on Pointe de Haute Bene, French Alps.
We arrange a monthly walk and also club weekends, usually once a month from March to November, staying in bunkhouses or hostels, which gives us the chance to climb some more distant hills. We've also arranged a couple of very successful European trips, most recently to the French Alps. Throughout the year, we have monthly indoor meetings.

We look forward to seeing you!
